"I'll be coming through Meridian and Jackson, looking forward to signing some books for folks," he told me in a phone interview Friday.
Huckabee said the purpose of the book is to encourage moms, dads and grandparents to tell their family stories to their children and grandchildren. The former presidential candidate and conservative Republican talk show host said the book is not political and is non-partisan.
"By the time our children are old enough to be interested in it (family stories) either we're too old or we're gone."
Huckabee has also re-released his book A Simple Christmas in paperback. He said both books are similar and promote family values. I asked what he sees as a major challenge to family values in this era.
"We fail to recognize that the great way to change America is not just in the next election, but it's by raising up the next generation-to have kids that understand what character and integrity mean, the value of work, and who understand that we're ultimately accountable to God, not to a political party.
Huckabee said his bus will pull into Meridian at Books-A-Million at 2 p.m. and to Lemuria in Jackson at 7 p.m. You may RSVP by clicking here.
