MABEN, Miss. -- A pregnant woman recovers from a weekend stabbing. John Jones, 30, the boyfriend of the victim’s sister has been arrested, charged with aggravated assault. Police responded to the scene just before noon Sunday. Jones turned himself into authorities later that day.

Commander Brett Watson with the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department says Jones is believed to have confronted the victim while he was looking for his girlfriend. He also believes domestic violence may be involved, but as of now they have not officially established a motive.
 
We are told the victim was taken to a local hospital and then transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where her and her unborn child remain in stable condition.
