LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss.-- A one-vehicle accident just outside of Oxford Saturday afternoon left a GMC Yukon totaled.
RIding in the Yukon were two women and six girls of high school ages.
Highway patrol officials on the scene tell us the passengers were "very lucky" and no one was seriously injured and had only "minor injuries."
Witnesses on the scene tell us a white truck pulled across the eastbound lanes of highway 6 turning towards the Denmark community in front of the GMC Yukon when it swerved to avoid the truck.
Upon swerving into the shoulder the Yukon appeared to have compensated too much according to witnesses and flipped into the adjacent ditch.
The truck that apparently caused the accident kept driving say witnesses and at this point nothing else is known of the vehicle.
All windows were shattered in the accident but luckily airbags did deploy.
