MAGEE, Miss. – The Principal of Magee High School found a note on the school’s door this morning threatening him and other staff members. That note has been turned over to police. They are now working to find the person that wrote and posted it there.
The high school was immediately put on lock down after authorities were notified. The District Superintendent’s office tells News Mississippi that because the middle school is right next door to the high school, the decision was made to put all their Magee schools on lock down and take extra safety measures at other schools in the district. That means extra security on campuses today. The lock down is expected to continue tomorrow too.
There had been earlier reports that the lock down was part of a drill. The Superintendent’s office said the confusion might have come in when they notified all schools to activate “drill procedures.”
