PASCAGOULA, Miss.--Twenty-five-year-old Bradley Scott Hilsabeck is having his Christmas turkey in the Jackson County lock-up after a Sunday carjacking. Cops say when he took the car he may not have realized a three-year-old child was in the back seat.
Several coast media outlets reported the carjacking happened Sunday just before 7 p.m. at a Pascagoula Walgreens. That's where cops say Hilsabeck pushed a woman away from her 2002 Nissan in the parking lot and took the car.
When he realized there was a child in the back, Hilsabeck stopped the car and let the child out on a rural road. Police say he then drove the car back to town where he was stopped and fled on foot.
The Sun Herald reports that after he was caught, Hilsabeck had a hard time calming down before he could tell police where he left the child.
The mom and child were reunited later that night and the child was checked out at the hospital.
Hilsabeck is being held without bond and was already out on probation.
