HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- A Louisiana fugitive and his girlfriend have been arrested at a hotel in Hattiesburg.
Police say Anthony Alexius walked away from his work detail in the kitchen of the St. Tammany Parish jail just before noon Sunday.
They believe Melissa Beck picked him up outside the kitchen and then drove to Mississippi. Alexius is being charged with simple escape and Beck with assisting escape and accessory after the fact.
