Mississippi, Especially South, Could See Heavy Rain This Week

HATTIESBURG, Miss.--The transition into 2013 will likely be a wet one in Mississippi. Forecasts have rain returning to the area Monday night. Heavy rain is expected for several days along and south of I-20.

In the southern Mississippi corridor, the heaviest rain is expected on New Year's Day.

Temps were expected to stay above the freezing mark for night time lows and highs will be in the 60s for New Years and finally make it down to 50 for a high by Wednesday and Thursday.

Highs were expected to stay in the 50s for the weekend. The rain is expected to end Thursday and Thursday night for all parts of the state.
