HATTIESBURG, Miss.—A Sunday night shooting has taken the life of one teenager from Hattiesburg.
Lt. Jon Traxler said, “Around 19:00 hours we received a call of shots fired at an apartment complex.”
HPD responded to the call and took to action.
“Officers arrived and found one subject laying in an apartment from an apparent gunshot wound,” described Traxler.
The Hattiesburg American has identified the victim as 19-year-old Wesley Owens.
He was apparently in bad shape when police showed up.
“He was transported to the Forrest General Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.”
Police were investigating the shooting early this morning and arrest were made quickly.
Traxler said, “At this time we have arrested four people and two of them have been charged with homicide.”
