BRANDON, Miss, -- The sixth Rankin County man pleads guilty to hate crime charges from a 2011 incident in Jackson. Joseph Dominick, 21 now joins five others who are in custody and awaiting sentencing on federal charges. He could face up to five years in prison.
According to federal prosecutors a group of white males and females from Rankin County would go to Jackson and make sport of harassing African Americans.
The investigation was sparked by the death of James Anderson who was run over outside of a Jackson Hotel in June of 2011 by Deryl Dedmon, 20, of Rankin County; however, Dominick was not involved in that incident.
