WASHINGTON, D.C.--U.S. House Speaker John Boehner was re-elected by a majority of the House Thursday, despite his contraversial "yes" vote on the Fiscal Cliff deal. The roll call record shows all three Republican representatives from Mississippi voted for Boehner, while Mississippi's lone Democrat, Bennie Thompson, voted for Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Some of you are weighing in on News Mississippi's Facebook page. We asked if you believe Mississippi's congressmen (Alan Nunelee, Gregg Harper, Bennie Thompson, and Steven Palazzo) are different than the rest. We also asked "Have they done a better job?"
Here are some of your responses:
Bennie Thompson is the sorriest excuse for an "elcected official" ever..
Right now I think they are all a sorry lot though.
No all have knuckled under.
Mind you, these responses come at a time when Congress crossed a major deadline and voted to avoid the end to Bush-era tax cuts. Then we learned that your taxes will go up anyway.
