JACKSON, Miss.—The Mississippi Blues Marathon kicks off early Saturday morning in Jackson and the weather is looking cold.
It will be a day to bundle up weather you’re a runner or a spectator.
Meteorologist Jared Allen said,” We’re going to be looking at start temperatures around 7 a.m. being around the freezing mark.”
But other than the cold what could you expect if you’re headed out early?
“So it’s going to be a somewhat cool morning for running but as far as the wind’s concerned not too much expected.”
That’s good news for runners on the course but what about possible rain?
“We might have a slight chance of light rain showers in the late morning or early afternoon,” added Allen.
Allen did say that the rain chances are very slim and he doesn’t expect it to be much of a worry for people.
The biggest thing for the marathon will be the cold temperatures that will only be reaching 40 degrees by the time most people are finishing the race.
