GREENWOOD, Mississippi. -- The New owner of Greenwood based Viking Range says there are big plans in the works to grow the company and make money.
Greenwood Mayor Carolyn McAdams says she’s very optimistic but admits she’s now sure what all the big plans are. “I’m certainly not privileged to everything,” she says in an interview with News Mississippi. “But what they have told the supervisors and the city officials is that business is as usual.”
And she goes on to explain exactly what that means. “The company will remain here in Greenwood, Mississippi. No one’s leaving. No one’s going anywhere unless they so want.”
Fred Carl Jr., Viking's founder, will stay on as president and chief executive officer.
He sold the company to Middleby Corp. for $380 million.
