Events Come to a Close Over the Weekend-With VIDEO

JACKSON, Miss.--The dinosaurs are extinct-again. The sounds of the ferocious pre-historic beasts are no longer heard at the Miss. Museum of Natural Science. The six-month long exhibit came to a close Sunday.

Exact numbers on how many attended have not yet been made available.

The exhibit feature animatronic dinosaurs, replicating movement and approximating sounds.

Also coming to a close was Christmas on Ice and organizers are already looking ahead to the next one.

The event was expected to attract about 50,000 people, but brought in an estimated 105,000, despite closings due to rain and warm weather.

The outdoor ice skating rink and entertainment complex was set up on the grounds of Baptist Health Systems in Madison. The final night featured a performance by Mississippi's Skylar Laine, American Idol finalist.

Both events attracted visitors from all over Mississippi and out-of-state.
