EUPORA, Miss.—No that’s not a ghost in your attic, it’s the latest inmate to be captured in Mississippi.
Marlin Davis Randle escaped from the Webster County jail on January 2 and was on the run for almost a week before now being apprehended.
“We did another routine search of the house and found him up in the attic,” said Sheriff Tim Mitchell.
Randle’s wife had evidently been hiding him in the attic since Friday according to Sheriff Mitchell.
It was thought by authorities that he had possibly made it out of the state and law enforcement in three other states were looking for him but the sheriff said that’s not the case.
“Randall told us he’s been hiding out in the woods and found an old truck out in the woods and slept in it. He said he almost to froze to death.”
With this escape now he’s facing more time behind bars. Originally Randle was in jail on burglary charges.
“He is now facing assault charges and escape charges.”
And as for the wife, she is in hot water now for helping her husband.
“We locked his wife up yesterday too and the child is now with DHS,” closed Sheriff Mitchell.
