“Before had we didn’t have the mapping features that we do with this one,” said Sheriff Jimmy Smith.
According to smith when a 911 call comes in authorities can now see where you are calling form on the map.
“It also gives us what has happened at that address, if they have been other calls, or any arrests.”
He tells me other counties are outfitted with this technology but Perry County has the new generation, which includes voiceover IP computers and the ability to text message 911.
Supervisors voted to pay for the new emergency system out of the county funds last year and it is now fully operational.
