JACKSON, Miss. -- Pro Life Mississippi and Pastors for Life are teaming up to “help put an end to abortion,” according to Pastor Doug Lane.
He talked with news Mississippi about their strategy, 40 days of what he called “church” on the streets. “We want to sing. We want to pray. And we want to preach.”
And these services are being held outside the state’s only abortion clinic. “Because that’s where they are killing people," said Lane. “We want to be as close as we can to the women and children; and that’s as close as we can get.”
The groups gather at Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson for a luncheon today, after kicking off their 40-day mission. Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant was their guest speaker. “I want to try to do all I can do to try to stop abortions, which we believe, in our hearts, in our Christian hearts, we certainly believe its murder.”
The Governor says he would like to see that abortion clinic shut down. Those groups say that’s something they are parying for too.
