Ice and Snow Still Possible-What the National Weather Service Says



GREENVILLE, Miss.--An ice storm warning continued for the Mississippi Delta and was expected to be in effect through 6 p.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service forecast said freezing rain was expected to redevelope during the day Tuesday, with additional accumulations possible. Today's high in the Delta was expected at 34 degrees, with 26 for the low, going into Wednesday morning. That means it's possible that ice already accumulated in the area would not have a chance to melt.

This is a list of counties and cities affected, from the National Weather Service:

RULEVILLE...GREENWOOD...GRENADA...VAIDEN...NORTH CARROLLTON...
CARROLLTON...WINONA...EUPORA...MABEN...MATHISTON...GREENVILLE...
BELZONI...ISOLA...DURANT...TCHULA...LEXINGTON...PICKENS...
GOODMAN...MAYERSVILLE...ROLLING FORK...ANGUILLA...YAZOO CITY

Other areas in the northern half of the state were under a winter weather advisory. Here is that information:

INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...IUKA...BOONEVILLE...NEW ALBANY...TUPELO

Ice accumulations were still possible in these areas.
 
The Weather Service predicted snow possibilities for Wednesday and Thursday, with temps warming back into the 40s and finally the 50s by Friday.
