JACKSON, Miss. -- Mississippi’s two largest universities are teaming up to create an innovative program that they hope will convince your children to become teachers.
It’s called the Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program. “And this is an opportunity for students, the best and the brightest students, that are produced in our state and beyond to go into the filed of education and become teachers. To become the best teachers that we can possibly produce,” said Mississippi State University President Mark Keenum at a Tuesday press conference.
The program states this fall. Both schools are already recruiting students.
