CLINTON, Miss.—A vehicle took drive-thru-service to a whole new meaning in Clinton Tuesday.
“She thought she put her brake on and put it in park but she hit the gas instead,” said Chief Mike Warren.
Chief Warren is referring to the elderly woman who was driving the vehicle.
That proved to be a big mistake when the four-door car went over the curb and slammed into the front door of the bank doing considerable damage.
“She was checked out by EMS personnel and was then let go,” added the chief.
Seeing as how large amounts of money are kept at the Trustmark Bank that was struck, just like any other bank, the fact the front door no longer exists is a problem.
Warren said, “We’re remaining on scene until they can get that doorway secure.”
He said a repair crew had already been called and it wasn’t expected to take terribly long to fix but they would be there until it was fixed.
