Women in Combat-A Mississippi Viewpoint

JACKSON, Miss.--Many of you have opinions about Defense Secretary Leon Panetta's decision to lift a ban on U.S. military women being allowed in combat. We asked on News Mississippi's Facebook page if you believe it's a good idea. Here's what some of you said:

Women fought for years to have rights like me so if it is good enough for a man than it is good enough for a women.

Yes, and I can recommend a few to send out first.

If thats what they wanna do i give a big thumbs up.

No.! I think a womans place is at home on the front lines. She has enough to do raising her children. Put the man where he belongs..!What is this world coming to be like . The men at home, and woman at work. as usual.!!

Can she carry a wounded soldier while she's wearing 100+ lbs. of gear?

Sure but they got to carry their weight. If she weighs 125 pounds how will she be able to carry a 220 pound man over her shoulder if need be? Needs to be boundaries.
