JACKSON, Miss—One group of Mississippi men has gained national notoriety for their snake hunting methods.
Those methods, simply put, are catching snakes by hand.
The group called “Grab U One” has a handful of videos out that have gained national attention.
Jimmy Nicholson is one of the six men that make up the group and says with as many times he has hand-grabbed snakes, it’s impossible not to get bitten.
“If you count every snake that’s bit me I’ve probably been bitten about 500 times,” he said.
Nicholson said you obviously learn real fast which snakes or dangerous and which ones aren’t.
“I’ve only been bitten by one that’s poisonous though.”
And that poisonous snake was a cottonmouth that latched on to him once.
“It’s like a hot poker or a hot piece of iron stuck in your hand for four or fives hours,” he explained.
The group’s DVDs can be found at Bass Pro Shops around the country and they already have at least five discs in stores.
