WEST POINT, Miss.--You will be without representation for the majority of this legislative session in House Dist. 36. That covers parts of the Golden Triangle that were represented by the late David Gibbs. He died earlier this month at 76 after resigning from the House, only to rescind that resignation before it was official.

Gov. Phil Bryant set a special election date for March 12. The qualifying deadline is Feb. 11.

If no candidate receives a majority of votes cast in the special election, a runoff election will be held April 2, 2013
