BILOXI, Miss.--Victoria Dartez died at the hands of her husband Wednesday, Biloxi Police told media. They found the 52-year-old inside her apartment at the Seashore Oaks Senior Housing Community about 5:30 p.m. To get to her, police had to fight her spouse. He had a knife.

Corey James Dartez, 53, was waiting with a knife when they got to the scene. They told him to drop it, but he refused and cops say they had a struggle on their hands, albeit a brief one. Once they got inside they found Mrs. Dartez unresponsive. They tried, but could not resucsitate her.

The husband was cuffed and charged with murder and aggravated assault on a police officer. He's in the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on $1,250,000 bond.

Cops were still trying to find out just what happened, but they believe that it was a domestic incident and that Mrs. Dartez died of suffocation.
