JACKSON, Miss.—Fax machines everywhere are getting their game face on for Wednesday’s national signing day circus.
Tomorrow will mark the first day the class of 2013 high school seniors have the opportunity to sign their letter of intent to the college of their choice if they’ve been offered a scholarship by that university.
The action will kick off very early before many people are even out of bed. The nation’s consensus number one recruit, defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche out Loganville, Georgia is set to announce around 6:30 a.m. Ole Miss is in contention for his signature and many would call them the odds on favorite since his brother Denzel Nkemdiche is a current member of the Ole Miss football team.
Another national top recruit, defensive lineman Chris Jones of Houston, Miss. who is a Mississippi State commit will have an announcement ceremony between MSU and Ole Miss after a late surge by the Rebels in the last month. His announcement according to 247sports.com is at 10 a.m. at Houston High School.
Southern Miss received good news Tuesday morning with reports that Oxford High School QB Parker Adamson will sign with the Golden Eagles Wednesday. The 6’4” 205 lb. pocket passer was a first team all-state player his senior year.
The coverage of all the morning’s big announcements can be seen on ESPNU starting at 6:30 a.m. with Nkemdiche’s announcement. You can catch a recap of the day’s excitement on all the SuperTalk Mississippi stations from 3-6 p.m. with Head to Head with Matt Wyatt and Richard Cross also.
