TUPELO, Miss.--Forty-four-year-old Chadwick Lee Gammons of Waterford is in custody in Alabama this morning and Lee County authorities are calling dibs on him. They say they get him first whenever he's extradited because he led them and eight other agencies on a high speed chase through north Mississippi early Tuesday.
Police haven't said why he took off just yet, but WTVA reports the whole thing started near Wild Bills in Sherman. Gammons eventually got a whole line of cops cars chasing him as they lit up Hwy. 78 all the way into Alabama. Along the way, Gammons hit road signs and swerved and eventually wreck across the state line, where the Alabama Highway Patrol nailed him.
He's now facing felony fleeing, multiple traffic violations and DUI charges and more charges may be coming.
