VICKSBURG, Miss. -- A 17-year-old was found with a gun Wednesday at Vicksburg High. Police tell WAPT school officials called them around 2 p.m. after getting an anonymous tip that Michael Jones had a gun. A school resource officer arrested Jones without him putting up a fight.
 
In a press release by the school district, the student claimed he carried the gun for personal protection while walking to and from school and did not intend to use it. Since Jones’s arrest he has been released from jail on a $15,000 bond, but now faces discipline by the school district.
