BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss.—A 2011 feud over a woman has now put a Hancock County man behind bars for nine years.
Authorities say 29-year-old Aaron Burge let his anger get the best of him.
“It was an argument over a female,” said Hancock County Asst. District Attorney Matthew Burrell. “Burge grabbed a crowbar.”
And after grabbing the crowbar he hit his friend over the head with it twice.
Burrell said the victim was able to get away to a local establishment and people there placed a call for medical help.
Burge has had a couple of different run-ins with the law in the last few years and was on probation at the time of the assault.
“He was sentenced as a habitual offender to nine years,” said Burrell.
He could potential end up with more time than that according to Burrell who said Burge might have to spend time in jail for clearly breaking his probation terms in another county.
