TUPELO, Miss.--North Mississippi will feel the coldest air, but all of the state should get ready for a stout burst of cold air that will put highs in the 40s for Friday and Saturday. The cold air may also bring light snow to some parts of the state.
A 50/50 shot at snow showers is in the forecast for the northern third of the state for Friday night, with flurries possible throughout the day today and Saturday.
The low tonight for north Mississippi will be 31, with Saturday night's low well into the mid 20s.
Central and south are expected to fair a bit better, temperature-wise. Temps will be in the mid to upper 40s today, with low 40s likely Saturday. Any light snow is not expected to be a problem for travel.
Sunday sees things warming back into the 50s, with 60s on the way for the first part of next week.
