JACKSON, Miss. – You may remember that meteorite that struck Russia mid February.
“That’s scary, that could have been Ridgeland Mississippi, Pedal, Gulfport, it could have been anywhere in the county,” said Mississippi US Representative Steven Palazzo. Palazzo is the space subcommittee chair; he says the US House will be leading a committee in the coming weeks where experts will talk about near earth objects.
Palazzo also said the committee wants to bring a focus back to NASA.
“We are looking for a destination, and if we can do this, I think we can find a lot of the answers we are looking for, but we also have to have a focus on near earth objects.”
