JACKSON, Miss. -- A bill that will let you brew your own beer for personal and household use has passed in both the Mississippi House and Senate. If signed into law by the governor it will allow people 21 and older to brew beer wherever alcohol is legal in the state.
“You can brew up to 200 gallons per adult in a household per year,” said Craig Hendry with Raise Your Pints, the same group that brought you those high gravity beers last year.
“Its legal federally and legal in 48 states. Nobody else was trying to fix it so we said we would.”
Hendry says before this bill, you would have had to spend thousands of dollars on a state license and insurance bond to brew legally.
