GULFPORT, Miss.--The search for Nick Rainer has ended. His body was found this weekend south of the Beau Rivage casino in ocean waters near Gulfport. A fisherman spotted the body about 1 p.m. Friday, said officials with the Dept. of Marine Resources.
Rainer, 22, who was described by family as a strong swimmer, went missing along with his father Ken, 57, on a father-son kyaking trip Feb. 27. The elder Rainer's body was founf Feb. 28.
The cause of death was accidental drowning, according to Coroner Gary Hargrove. Family ID'd rainer with a birthmark and a tattoo.
Officials began a search for the two after their empty kyaks were reported seen near Davis Bayou by a shrimper.
