JACKSON, Miss. -- New York City's Mayor, Michael Bloomberg chastised the Mississippi legislator on WOR Radio Friday, calling the Anti-Bloomberg bill which pre-empts food restrictions, Ridiculous. He cited Mississippi's high obesity rate and low life expectancy. Mississippi Governor, Phil Bryant plans to sign the bill into law.
“People have to make individual decisions, if you can’t control yourself by maybe drinking a bottle of water and you think the state allowing others to enjoy a soft drink is going to effect your health care, we have bigger problems than a 32 oz. soft drink,” said Bryant.
The Mississippi bill prevents counties from putting a limit on serving sizes in restaurants.
