KEMPER COUNTY, Miss. A Kemper County grand jury will decide next month if a man should stand trial on charges of trying to rape a 79-year-old woman.
Allen Brown was arrested last week and is now home free on bond. Investigators say before the alleged attack, Brown had been doing some work on the woman’s house with her son. “He came back later in the week, forced his way into the house; and at that time, he attempted to rape her,” explained Kemper County Sheriff James Moore.
And even though the woman was recovering from heart surgery, “After he undressed, she grabbed parts of his body and twisted it. Then she grabbed a butcher’s knife on the counter. She was able to defend herself with that; and force him out of the house, and call 911.
Moore says this is not Brown’s first time facing similar charges. “He raped his grandmother in the 1990s.” Moore served time for that conviction. He is home today after bonding out of jail on the attempted rape charge.
