Liquor and Wine Sales-New Albany Voters Approve

NEW ALBANY, Miss.--It was a Tuesday vote by the people that approved liquor and wine sales inside the New Albany city limits. The margin was 57 percent in favor.

City officials reported the numbers were 1,024 for and 905 against, with all absentee ballots counted, but 25 affidavit ballots still uncounted as of the unofficial tally. But, they said that small number would not affect the outcome.

WTVA reported the city had a similar vote three years ago that failed.
