JACKSON, Miss.—After a sharp increase in price during the month of February, gas prices in the state have remained relatively steady for the last month.
Almost exactly one month ago gas prices in the state topped out at $3.64 towards the end of February after dropping below $3 in some places in late January.
For the last month leading up to the first day of spring gas has slowly dropped and remained steady around $3.51 per gallon.
That price puts Mississippi 13th in the country for lowest prices compared to other states.
Most experts have said prices will likely start to rise even more, as usual, when the warmer months start to come around in a few months.
According to www.gasbuddy.com the lowest town for gas in the state currently is Meridian and the most expensive place to buy gas is Hernando.
