Brookhaven High School Mourns Loss of Classmates

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. – Two Brookhaven High School students are dead and a third teenager has been arrested following a head-on accident Tuesday night.

Lincoln County’s deputy coroner said Shaquan Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene and Javontae Dickey died at King’s Daughters Medical Center.  Both 18-year-old seniors were members of the school’s football team and had just attended a softball game.

The driver who hit the car they were in, Chas Acy, 18, is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, DUI-suspended license and no proof of insurance.  Police say more charges are possible, pending the result of toxicology testing.

Grief counselors were expected at Brookhaven High Wednesday to help students cope with their classmates’ deaths.
