DMC Power, manufacturer of connection systems for transmission, distribution, substation and industrial projects, is expanding manufacturing and distribution operations to Olive Branch.

The project is an $8 million corporate investment and will create 125 jobs over five years.

“As a strong manufacturing state, Mississippi is an ideal location for high-tech companies like DMC Power who rely on a strong, well-trained workforce to produce and deliver quality products to their customers,” said Governor Phil Bryant. “I appreciate the DMC Power team for choosing to locate in North Mississippi and bringing more than 100 new jobs to the region.”

DMC Power is in the process of converting the 168,000 square foot Nissan distribution facility in Olive Branch to a large-scale connector manufacturing center.

“Expanding our operations is a huge milestone for DMC Power and proof that American manufactured products are still the best in the world,” said Tony Ward, CEO of DMC Power. “The cooperation and support from everyone in Mississippi has been overwhelming, and we look forward to being part of – and giving back to – the community.”

The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for equipment relocation and building improvements. The city of Olive Branch and DeSoto County will provide assistance in the form of partial property tax exemptions.

DMC Power partnered with the Tennessee Valley Authority nearly three decades ago to provide connector solutions to TVA’s substation and transmission projects. The cooperation of TVA and proximity within the TVA service area was cited as a benefit for both parties.

“DMC Power’s partnership with TVA, coupled with TVA’s leading presence throughout Northeast Mississippi, played a significant role in this economic development win, which creates 125 high-tech career opportunities for Mississippians in DeSoto County,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “MDA salutes the leadership of TVA, Northcentral Electric Power Association, the city of Olive Branch, DeSoto County and the DeSoto County Economic Development Council for their excellent teamwork building strong communities through economic development.”

Currently headquartered in Carson, California, DMC Power designs and manufactures the highest quality connection products in the power industry, with more than 50 years of experience and a global customer base.

The company is currently hiring and expects to be operational in Olive Branch in early 2019.
