2 arrested in dragging of a Jackson police officer

JACKSON, Miss.-A police officer was dragged nearly 30 feet by a car in Jackson. The two men they believe were responsible have been arrested. 

Oriente Taylor, 27, was in the drivers seat when the officer approached and he threw the car in reverse dragging her along. Taylor was charged with several counts of aggravated assault against a police officer.

In the passenger seat was 25-year-old Javorski Blackmon who was charged with public drunkenness.

The officer has remained unnamed but was taken to the hospital and did not suffer from any life threatening injuries.
