LEAKE COUNTY, MISS– One woman is dead and two people are injured after what neighbors say was an argument Saturday afternoon.
UPDATE: Those involved have been identified by the Leake County Sheriff as Tanya Johnson Barton, Luke Barton, and Donald Johnson. Tanya Johnson Barton died at the scene of the shooting. Donald Johnson was taken by personal vehicle to the hospital and Luke Barton was airlifted. Police believe one of the men killed Tanya, but it isn’t clear which man did it just yet. Charges are pending, reports WLBT.
When Leake County deputies arrived to the home after reports of gun shots, they found a woman dead, and two people injured. The woman was the estranged wife of one of the injured men.
The shooting started outside the home and continued inside.
No one knows why the argument happened or who pulled the trigger. Leake County officials are still investigating. No name have been released. The woman’s body has been sent to the state crime lab.
