JACKSON, Miss.–There’s been another pit bull attack on a child and a five-year-old boy is in the hospital. This attack happened Wednesday in the capital city.
Police said the pit bull, which belonged to the family, was captured, and there was still no word on whether it would be put down.
A neighbor told WAPT that he was mowing his grass when the boy’s mom came running and asking for help to get the pit bull off him. The neighbor was able to intervene, but the child got several bad bites and had to go to the hospital.
Earlier this year a series of pit bull attacks had Holmes County Sheriff Willie March leading the charge to not only have pit bulls banned in his county, but to have, maybe, a state-wide ban considered.
