The Bacon Brothers on Good Things!

Michael and Kevin Bacon front the Bacon Brothers and have … Continue reading “The Bacon Brothers on Good Things!”

D-Day Changed the World 73 Years Ago Today

The Allied forces invaded the beaches of Normandy on June 6th, 1944, 73 years ago today. The brave men that climbed down cargo nets into landing craft under the cover of darkness tell stories about how some where unworried. They’d been told the Navy and Army Air Corps were going to bombard the beach, clearing … Continue reading “D-Day Changed the World 73 Years Ago Today”

OHS Day 22: Being a Little Distracted Helps(a little)(Ryno)

Today was an even busier day than usual for Ryno, and he was almost running late getting to Boot Camp this afternoon, because he just had so much to get done at the office. Instead of letting work be an excuse, it became a bit of a distraction. If you have someone you are working … Continue reading “OHS Day 22: Being a Little Distracted Helps(a little)(Ryno)”

OHS Day 21: Coach Pushed Me to My Limit!(Ryno)

Dawn has begun her training for a 5K, so she had the day off from working out with Coach Kilgore and Ryno, and Coach had a bit of surprise in store for Ryno’s workout. OHS Day 20: Week 5 is in the Books!(Ryno)

Week 5 is in the books and the progress that Ryno has made is staggering. OHS Day 19: Something as Simple as Walking (Ryno)

Coach took Ryno and Dawn out to the track today to work on some simple(yet effective) leg exercises and stretches. He also taught us how to walk correctly, focusing on the order of muscle engagement. It doesn’t seem like it, but something as simple as working “correctly” can get a good burn going after awhile.

OHS Day 18: Cardio and Hydration (Ryno)

Cardio is a big man’s Kryptonite, and today Coach had Dawn and Ryno running 300 yard shuttles. Ryno powered through the first one with a little pep in his step, but when it came time for the second round of 300 yards running, Ryno’s pace slowed WAY down. While cardio training is definitely something Ryno … Continue reading “OHS Day 18: Cardio and Hydration (Ryno)”

OHS Day 16: No Keys in the Cart (Ryno)

Ryno hopped on the “Gator”/Golf Cart after the last day of Boot Camp for Week 4 and wanted to take it for a spin, but the keys weren’t in it(and he would’ve probably gotten in trouble). After one month of Operation Healthy State, Ryno is already seeing some real results!
