WATER VALLEY, Miss — Can you imagine a water melon… bigger than you are? The state watermelon record has been broken. Jerry Vaughn lives in Water valley, his watermelon weighed 239.5 pounds. It had a girth of 5’ 3”. He entered that melon in the Great Pumpkin Common Wealth contest in Missouri where he won first price.
Vaughn told WCBI TV he credits the usually summer weather, hot September days, and the seed-line for his growing success.
