Bill to ban fetal dismemberment passed through House

JACKSON, Miss.- House Representatives approved the Mississippi Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act that would end abortion by the dismemberment of a fetus.

Dismemberment abortion is where the doctor pulls apart, piece by piece, the unborn baby, while still technically alive in the mothers womb. This would cause the unborn baby to die from blood loss and trauma to the body.

Mississippi Right to Life President Barbara Whitehead told WLBT that this bill would protect the states unborn babies from a cruel and barbaric form of abortion.

The bill still seeks approval from the Senate.
