Blood Disorder Sends MS State Senator to Hospital

JACKSON, Miss. – A Mississippi lawmaker on a mission trip to Chile is now hospitalized in that South American country.

Doctors found blood clots in one of Senator Phillip Gandy’s legs and have placed him on bed rest.  Gandy, 64, expects to be discharged by the end of the week.

Gandy, a Republican from Waynesboro, is also a Baptist pastor.  He has been in South America speaking at a church he started in Chile 30 years ago.
