Bogus Bucks Spent in Madison: Four Arrests Made For Using Phony Funds

MADISON, MISS– Spending fake fifties in Madison led to the arrests of four people from Itta Bena. 

Tonnie Carroll, 47; Brenda Cross, 41; Sylvester Anderson, 37; and Daphenia Anderson, 36 were picked up by the Leflore County Sheriff’s Department, all charged with uttering forgery and sitting behind bars in the Madison County lockup.

The fake fifties were used at the Madison locations of Walmart and Lowe’s. The four were spotted on security video.

The Madison County police department says this investigation is far from over. The United States Secret Service is investigating where the counterfeit bills may have been printed.
