Bomb Threat Cancels Classes, Clears Union at Alcorn State

LORMAN, Miss.–Alcorn State University had part of its campus evacuated Tuesday due to a suspicious package in the student union.

Campus police along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated a box that had been left at the union’s mail facility and it turned out to be an iPad chirping inside its box and not a bomb.

Not long after that an actual bomb threat, separate from the other incident, was called in regarding the same student union but after a sweep it was determined there was no threat.

Several buildings in the the area were evacuated during the search.

Classes were cancelled for the rest of the day on campus and the investigation into the threat in ongoing.
