Bond Set for Man in Connection with Nettleton Shooting

NETTLETON, Miss.- A Man charged in connection with a Tuesday night Lee County shooting made his initial court appearance Friday morning. 47-year-old Nettleton resident Cleveland Oliver has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Sheriff Jim Johnson told WTVA that Oliver was arrested on Wednesday for a shooting that happened Tuesday night in Chickasaw County on County Road 1361 at around 6 p.m.

Apparently the victim showed up to Oliver’s home after word got to him that Oliver had sent text messages to his daughter threatening her and the victim, which was when the shooting occurred.

During an initial appearance in Lee County Justice Court, bond was set at $35,000.
