Calling Out the Gov.: Thompson Has Things to Say About Medicaid Expansion, Republicans

WASHINGTON, D.C.–If you oppose ObamaCare, it’s because the president is black, is essentially what Congressman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) told a radio host this weekend on a New Nation of Islam program. He also had unflattering things to say about Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky).

Thompson specifically called out Gov. Phil Bryant, a Republican, for refusing to consider expanding Medicaid.

“Not only did this man turn it down, but he turned down resources that could have helped his citizens just because a black man created it,” said Thompson.

He said Bryant could have used expansion to help Mississippians who suffer from “some of the worst health problems known to man”.

The comments about Gov. Braynt begin at about 2:40.
