Cold front snaps heat, brings thunderstorms

A blessed break from the heat in north Mississippi today: scattered showers heralding the arrival of that cold front you’ve been hearing about: temperatures rising into the mid 80s for your high today and through the weekend. Tonight’s low flirting with the upper 60s in some places. Tomorrow partly cloudy and about as comfortable as you’d please: highs returning to the mid 80s. Tomorrow night might even be a little brisk: in the lower 60s.

Central Mississippi, however, you’re still in for some steamy heat today: highs in the mid 90s. Your scattered showers and thunderstorms not expected until tonight and tomorrow. Once they do arrive, however, look for highs in the upper 80s and lows in the mid 60s.

South Mississippi looking at highs in the lower 90s today. You’ve got some stray thunderstorms on the menu tonight and tomorrow that will knock temperatures down into the mid 80s for your Saturday high. Don’t get cozy for too long, though: you’re in for days of possible torrential rain beginning Monday.
