Dozens of guns found in Opioid bust

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics teamed up with local law enforcement to search a residence in Picayune on Friday.

Officers executed a search warrant of the property that uncovered opiods, guns, and cash. Agents arrested Wayne Thomas Wadel Jr., 58 and charged him with two counts of the sale of a controlled substance and possession with intent to transfer.

Agents found 50 dose units of Oxycodone, an opioid/prescription painkiller. They also found cash, 48 rifles, shotguns, and handguns, according to MBN Director John Dowdy.

The search was conducted by MBCN, the Hancock County Sheriff Department and Pearl River County Sheriff Department.

Wadel was taken to the Hancock County Detention Center and booked.
